Dedicated to supporting the Returned and Services’ Association (RSA), the New Lynn RSA Women’s Section celebrated 75 years last month.
With the motto “People helping people” they have contributed to the RSA through event support, baking, fundraising, crafting, and as a group have been dedicated to keeping the movement of women in the RSA. “This is a joyous occasion”, says President Glenis McFarlane. “Women have contributed much to the RSA; it is a pleasure to serve as President and I encourage new members to join the movement. We meet once per month and have guest speakers, events and go on outings.” Whau Ward Councillor Tracy Mulholland felt privileged to join their celebration luncheon held at Bricklane, and as a supporter of their good work in the community, formally joined the Section and encourages other women to do likewise.
