In the July issue: - Peter Snell's Singlet Sells - then doesn't - The local connections of Arthur Lyiad's boys - Monterey Pines Come Down - Art with Heart - Dodgy Lodgers - The End of an Era - 165 years of shipping PLUS lots of other community news! Kerrie and I have had a blast doing the paper - getting out around our community, gathering stories, working with our supporting advertisers and community groups and building our online footprint. This weekend, 9-10 July, the second issue of our baby, BEACON BHB, is getting shoved into 9,959 mailboxes lovingly bundled with whatever junk mail Reach Media has been able to get together for the weekend. This means that if your letterbox sprots a "no junk mail" sign, we won't be in your letterbox. If you do get commercial mail, please have a look to see if BEACON is included! Why do we send it this way? Well we thought about popping around to your place and 9,958 others to give you a copy of the paper we love but the idea made us feel tired. Instead we are paying good money to keep others in employment to bring it to you. You can also pick up a copy from the Library and Community Centre as well as a growing list of retailers. However, we are also in the digital age so we are offering to personally deliver the next issue of BEACON BHB to your inbox TWO DAYS early before it hits the letterboxes. You can get this VIP access for FREE by signing up to our VIP list here We appreciate your interest in this great community. It makes it a wonderful place to live. John Subritzky www.bhb.nz

My name is Kerrie Subritzky, and I want to introduce myself as the new Publisher, Editor and Advertising Representative for Blockhouse Bay Beacon (Formerly Newstalk BHB).
Sara-Maye has made the difficult decision to move on to new ventures. We want to thank her for the contribution she has made over the past few years, and wish her all the very best. To say I am excited about breathing new life into this awesome communication would be an understatement! Together with my husband, John, we intend to grow this paper to a valuable and anticipated community voice, and will include a digital and social media arm as well. We are committed to ensuring that you get the very best bang for your advertising buck, and I will be contacting you soon to arrange a time to drop in to introduce myself. I want to get to know you and your business, and see how the new-look Paper can improve on our partnership. For now, I want to sincerely thank you for your support over the years, and look forward to putting faces to names in the near future. Warm regards, Kerrie |
