Too tired to cook on a Friday night? Well get the family in the car or have an evening walk to Green Bay. Each week different food trucks park in the community centre car park and deliver mouthwatering dishes to you. Each truck is very different, so you have a wide range of food to choose from. While you wait for your food, your kids can have fun in the sun playing on the playground next to the carpark. Entrance is free, but the food cost varies. Find Green Bay Street Food on Facebook. 4.5 stars

This activity is sure to cool you off. There are a few different things you can do, all equally fun. The one for beginners or children, is called the Tamariki River. Paddle through rapids and get soaking wet! Thrill seekers, you can do the Pump Waterfall. This one is for advanced rafters. Plunge down the 4.5m drop into cool water! There is also a big lake for kayaking and paddle boarding. The Tamariki River is $55, and the Pump Waterfall is an extra $10. I recommend this for children 5 and above.
