It was a bit quiet when Dundale Ave Café and Eatery first opened its doors at the beginning of the year. But as Auckland is like a ghost town in January that came as no surprise to manager Gaurav, and it wasn’t long before word got around and the locals started pouring in.
Owner Naresh is no stranger to the retail food business, with restaurants in Newmarket and Mt Eden. He felt there was a gap in the area for a nice café to serve modern, authentic, home-made food and great coffee to locals. Turns out he was right, if the online reviews are anything to go by …
…“Very impressed with this new café. The food is simply delicious, and beautifully presented. Very friendly staff and the best coffee in a 10-mile radius.”
…“One of the best new cafés to pop up in the area. High quality food. Great service. Eggs bene to die for - 6/5!!!”
…“Stoked to find this little oasis tucked away just round the corner - awesome staff and a great place to think, work and/or chat over a coffee.”
There’s always a weekly special to offer the diners, and permanent ones too such as the $5 coffee and muffin special from 8am – 10am, and a 10% discount for Gold Card holders.
From 5pm the café is transformed into an authentic modern Thai restaurant, which is also getting plenty of enthusiastic reviews, confirming that this new eatery is just what was needed in the area.
